Adults and TBI

A significant negative outcome from TBI is loss of employment, which is a source of diminished quality of life and economic stress for those with TBI and their families.  Common issues following TBI that can impact successful employment include cognitive difficulties, behavioral issues, difficulties with social interaction and physical challenges.

Many individuals with TBI are able to return to work on their own by developing their own compensatory strategies or working with employers to arrange appropriate accommodations.  Others may require additional services, training and supports to obtain and/or maintain employment.
