State and Local Parent Advisory Committees

Each CRS office has a parent advisory committee ( PAC ) composed of the parents of children served by CRS . Each local committee appoints one parent as the chairperson for that committee and designates a representative and an alternate to attend State Parent Advisory Committee meetings. Parents are asked to serve on the PAC for two years and can be reappointed. Each PAC meets a minimum of three times a year. If you are interested in joining the PAC in your area, contact your local CRS office.

The State Parent Advisory Committee ( SPAC ) meets at least once a year following local PAC meetings. The SPAC is composed of at least one representative from each local PAC .  The primary function of the SPAC is to bring concerns and suggestions from the Local Parent Advisory Committee regarding state programs and policies.
