Social Security Disability Insurance / Supplemental Security Income ( SSDI / SSI )
The Social Security Administration ( SSA )
has a vested interest in providing a work
incentive program for disability recipients and beneficiaries. The Alabama
Department of Rehabilitation Services has formed a partnership with the
SSA
to assist SSA
recipients
in becoming employed. This partnership involves the Work Incentives Partnership
Assistance Grant from the Social Security Administration.
Through community work incentives coordinators statewide, information is disseminated
to SSDI/SSI beneficiaries to allow them to make informed decisions regarding issues
related to returning to work and how employment may affect their current and future
benefit status. This information provides increased opportunity for the SSA beneficiaries
to take advantage of
available work incentives and other benefits available. This
project is considered vital to the welfare of the recipient by providing accurate
information that applies to his
or her own personal situation and benefit status.
Training and technical assistance can
also be provided and structured to accommodate
specific needs. For additional information, contact:
