AEIS Continuous Improvement Monitoring Process: Self Assessment and Self Improvement Reports

In Alabama, the early intervention system has undergone a monitoring process by the federal funding organization for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act ( IDEA ), which requires each state to provide early intervention (Part C) and special education (Part B) to children with disabilities, ages birth through 21. This process ensures that services are provided in accordance with the law and its regulations. With the assistance of many other agencies and organizations that help families, Alabama’s Early Intervention System compiled a report of its efforts for the Office of Special Education Programs within the U.S. Department of Education. The second stage in this process required the state to develop an improvement plan based on the findings of the self assessment. ^ return to top ^
